OVERVIEW

01

The Brief

IntelyEdu is IntelyCare’s educational destination for nursing professionals who specialize in post-acute care. It allows for learner-centric educational offerings and affiliate programs that are timely, relevant, easily accessible, and structured to fit your life.

02

The Problem

The existing site had no clear calls to action, inconsistent branding with IntelyCare, confusing navigation, and didn’t clearly communicate the difference between IntelyPro and non-IntelyPro experiences.

03

The Outcome

Redesigned three key pages — Homepage, All Courses, and About IntelyEdu — improving clarity, navigation, and brand consistency across the platform.

THE PROBLEM

The Challenge

01

Confusing Homepage

The homepage had no clear call to action and didn’t communicate what IntelyEdu offered or what the difference was between IntelyPro and non-IntelyPro experiences.

Visitors couldn’t quickly understand what IntelyEdu offered or how to get started.

02

Disorganized Course Library

All courses were represented by the same generic bullseye image, making it impossible for users to differentiate between courses at a glance.

A nurse with 10 minutes to spare shouldn’t have to hunt for the right course.

03

Weak About Page

The About IntelyEdu page had design inconsistencies and didn’t clearly communicate IntelyEdu’s story, offerings, or goals to its nursing audience.

Trust is everything in healthcare education — the page wasn’t earning it.

WHAT WE SET OUT TO DO

Three Pages. One Clearer Experience.

GOAL 01

Clarity

Redesign the homepage to immediately communicate IntelyEdu’s value to nursing professionals.

GOAL 02

Discoverability

Improve the All Courses page so nurses can find and enroll in relevant courses quickly.

GOAL 03

Trust

Strengthen the About page to build credibility with a healthcare-education audience.

HOW WE GOT THERE

Discovery to Delivery

STEP 01

Research & Assumptions

Before redesigning, we documented what we already knew about users and identified key assumptions: IntelyPros weren’t clear on what perks they had with IntelyEdu, the current experience was hard to navigate, and the site wasn’t consistent with IntelyCare branding. We defined four metrics to track success: number of sign-ups, page visits, calls logged from IntelyPros on IntelyEdu, and active IntelyPros in the platform.

STEP 02

Problem Framing

The redesign was scoped into three distinct problem areas — Homepage Experience, All Courses Page, and About IntelyEdu — each with its own user criteria and success definition. For the homepage, users needed clear CTAs differentiating IntelyPro vs non-IntelyPro paths. For the courses page, thumbnails needed to reflect what each course was actually about. For the About page, IntelyEdu’s story, offerings, and authors needed to be clearly communicated.

STEP 03

High-Fidelity Design

Four homepage concepts were created and presented to stakeholders. Each explored a different visual direction — from staying close to the existing IntelyCare brand to a more distinct “Future of Nursing” feel. Stakeholders selected a combination of Concepts 3 and 4, giving IntelyEdu a refreshed identity while maintaining familiarity.

STEP 04

Iteration & Handoff

Based on stakeholder feedback, we moved forward with a combination of Concepts 3 and 4 for the homepage. Course thumbnails were updated so each image reflected the course content — allowing users to quickly differentiate between courses. IntelyPro courses were labeled in the bottom right corner. Development restrictions prevented some criteria from being fully met, but the shipped changes were significantly beneficial to both new and existing users.

THE RESULT

A site that works for nurses, not against them

Redesigned homepage with two clear CTAs — Sign Up for IntelyEdu and Sign In — prioritizing new user acquisition.

  • Moved courses higher on the homepage as a content priority.
  • Updated all course thumbnails so each image reflects the course content.
  • IntelyPro courses clearly labeled to differentiate from non-IntelyPro offerings.
  • Refreshed About IntelyEdu page telling IntelyEdu’s story and showcasing expert authors.

LOOKING BACK

What I learned

  • This project taught me what it means to work with stakeholders — taking and receiving feedback without letting emotions get in the way, and translating that feedback into better design decisions.
  • Scoping the redesign by page kept the project focused and deliverable within a short contract window — shipping what mattered most within development constraints.
  • Designing for a healthcare-education audience meant earning trust before asking for action — credibility signals needed to come earlier and louder in the hierarchy.
