OVERVIEW

01

The Brief

Redesign MykroGrid’s marketing website to clarify offerings, build credibility, and drive partner engagement in Nigeria’s cleantech landscape.

02

The Problem

The original site lacked clarity and visual consistency. Confusing structure, limited brand cohesion, and a poor conversion funnel meant potential partners weren’t engaging.

03

The Outcome

A live, responsive website that clearly communicates MykroGrid’s product ecosystem to three distinct audiences — residents, institutional clients, and developers.

THE PROBLEM

The Challenge

01

Confusing Structure

The site didn’t communicate MykroGrid’s product ecosystem or credibility as a funded cleantech startup.

Potential partners couldn’t understand what MykroGrid did or who it was for.

02

Weak Brand Identity

Limited brand cohesion across digital channels made the company look unestablished.

The visual language didn’t match the ambition of the company.

03

Poor Conversion Funnel

Low engagement from potential partners — no clear path to contact or learn more.

Users had no clear next action after landing on the site.

WHAT WE SET OUT TO DO

Three Goals. One Direction.

GOAL 01

Clarity

Clarify MykroGrid’s product ecosystem and service value for all target audiences.

GOAL 02

Credibility

Strengthen brand identity through cohesive visuals, messaging, and content hierarchy.

GOAL 03

Conversion

Increase partner engagement by simplifying navigation and optimizing the inquiry funnel.

HOW WE GOT THERE

Discovery to Delivery

STEP 01

Discovery & Research

Conducted stakeholder interviews to define goals and pain points. Performed a full audit of the existing MykroGrid site across three pages — Homepage, Technology Solution, and Our Projects — documenting what was working, what was unclear, and suggested improvements for each. Also conducted competitive analysis of Nigerian clean energy platforms including Daystar Power and Solynta Energy, documenting visual approaches, content structure, and messaging strategies. Identified three primary audiences: Residents, Institutional Clients, and Developers.

STEP 02

Information Architecture & Wireframing

Simplified site structure into clear paths: Home, About Us, Technology Solution, Small Businesses & Markets, Our Projects. Designed a scalable navigation system for easy expansion.

STEP 03

Visual Design

Developed updated brand components (color system, typography, spacing, grid). Introduced energy-inspired visuals, iconography, and modular layout blocks. Designed responsive screens for desktop, tablet, and mobile.

STEP 04

Developer Handoff

Delivered responsive prototypes and component libraries in Figma. Worked with 2 developers on QA to ensure fidelity in the Next.js build.

LOOKING BACK

What I learned

  • Designing for three distinct audiences on one site requires ruthless prioritization of hierarchy — every section had to earn its place.
  • Working directly with developers from the start (not just at handoff) produced a cleaner, more faithful build.
  • The constraint of a lean team pushed better scoping decisions — we shipped what mattered first.
